Time to replace the crusty old drum brakes with a much safer front disc conversion kit. If you haven’t done this before, I don’t recommend it. Those 41 year old bolts don’t like being removed. It was very difficult to do just one side. The kit had all new brake lines and components. Now is the time to replace those old tie rods, steering idler arm, and bushings as well. This is dirty work. The newly exposed frame parts were wire brushed and sanded down, then protected with POR15 to last forever. The shiny new disc brakes look great if nothing else. Later we’ll see if they work. On to the drivers side now and then replacing the master cyl. and booster.
